I've been studying shadows, especially those made by the low angles of winter light. Those shadows are long, stretching out blue or purple across the snow. This painting is my response to the way winter's evening light casts those long shadows over an alpine meadow, aglow in pinks and gold. It is framed in a simple wooden floater frame.
