This painting was inspired by a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. I saw fossils of ancient sea creatures etched in the canyon rock and learned that the entire Grand Canyon was under an ocean at one point in time. The red rock, the vast expanse, the endless time frame make the Grand Canyon truly awe inspiring.
