This painting was inspired by a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. We stopped to see a row of small caves carved into the stone walls that the indigenous people of the area used for storage. The pink marble cliffs, the small square storage caves, the season, all conspired when I created the name of the painting: Etched in Autumn. Mixed media and oil paint on canvas, framed.
