On hot summer days in the mountains I head off to a nearby lake to swim with my dog. The shadows, the afternoon sun skimming the water, a race for the ball (my dog always wins)--all those impressions inspired this painting. It is a mixed media piece on cradled panel, floating in a simple wooden frame.
